List of complaints a supply chain manager got are : 1.) Managers didn't know what materials were being charged to their departments until monthly accounting statement came out. 2.) Engineering and operational personnel were not notified when materials came in unless expeditor dropped material on the desk of requisitor. 3.) Supply department was entirely too slow in processing orders. It took full day just to get order to the telephone. 4.) Supply department didn't understand technical specifications and expeditor was being overworked by handling all technical orders. Q: if you were a supply chain manager what recommendations you would have made? At what point this supply department exhibit weak control over inventory and overall supply management performance? How could these weaknesses be corrected? What activities should the expeditor be responsible for in organisation?
