What accounted for the emergence and the spread of Swahili civilization
The Swahili civilization emerged as a result of Kenyan coast influence on the Iron Age cultures. The Swahili civilization came as a result of the trade between the Iron Age people and Inland Africa, Asia, and Europe. Long distance trade routed were formed in the Indian Ocean which led to the influence of Swahili civilization by Arabic, Indian, Chinese, and Persian cultures. Cities such as the Swahili Coast flourished during the 10th century together wit adjacent islands such Malindi, Kilwa, Comoros, and Zanzibar.
