Natural light by John Locke signifies a kind of truth whose knowledge, man can, by the right use of those faculties with which he is provided by nature, attain by himself, and without the help of another. This means that natural light is the kind of knowledge that a person can gain by himself without the help of others.
2. John Locke states that the main role of the civil state is to protect the natural lights that the individual cannot effectively protect in a state of nature. Further, John Locke states that these natural lights of the individual can be protected by the civil state developing three branches of the government including legislature, which is the most important one, executive, and judiciary.. All of the three branches should be given functions to be performed.
