Why do you think Blumenbach regarded physical beauty as proof of superiority? Would he agree that “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”? How do notions of beauty affect the value we attach to individuals and groups?

According to Blumenbach, physical beauty played was the most attributable principal for regarding an individual as superior among the people. The most beautiful people in the society were regarded as primate and as well as intervenors. While the other remaining races were considered to be descended from the primate ones; thus were not really regarded as equals in the society.

Similarly, Blumenbach always strongly disagreed with the saying that “beauty is in the eye of the beholder” because his perception towards beauty was not based on the love principal but on superiority matters. Nevertheless Blumenbach also agreed that all human kinds run into one another sensibly pass into another that you cannot mark out the limits between them.

The perception of beauty always plays a critical role on the value attached to individuals in the society where people are ranked in superiority according to their beautifulness. In this sense the most beautiful ones are considered as the most superior and vice verse. For instance, people from a certain origin are more respected than others from another region.
