From Allison's poem, I gained a deeper understanding on how important the indigenous people are and we need to protect the indigenous people of North America. Similarly, from the contemporary poetry of Native Americans, I have gained a deeper, nuanced understanding of the need to value all races despite of their political, religious or racial origin. Every human being needs to be equally regarded with others and given same rights and as well as opportunities in the society.
