What is/are the reason/s behind the Cavite Mutiny based on the testaments of the Spanish authorities?
The Cavite Mutuny was na uprising of the Filipino and Spanish military personnel in 1872. The mutiny arose following the order of Governor Raphael de Izquierdo to subject solders of engineering a d artilllary corps to peraonal taxes from which they were exempted initially. The taxation system required them to pay a monetary sum as well as to perform forced labor called, "polo y servicio." The mutiny was sparked on January 20, when the laborers received their pay and realized the taxes as well as the falla, the fine one paid to be exempt from forced labor, had been deducted from their salaries.
