PHILIPPINES INDEPENDENCE DAY
June 12, 1898, was the day Filipinos declared their independence. The Philippine leaders from the Philippine Revolution came together in the city of Cavite and Gen (Schirmer, D. B., & Shalom, S. R. Eds,1987). Emilio Aguinaldo proclaimed freedom for the country from Spain ( Bankoff, G., & Weekley, K, 2017). . At the time the Philippines got their freedom United States and Spain were fighting. Germany and Britain got an interest in the vulnerable territory. Aguinaldo articulated for the Philippine Republic, hoping to gain support from the United States to attain their freedom.
