The act required people in South Africa to be registered and classified according to the four distinct races: white, colored, bantu and others. It was part of the Apartheid system. As a result, black people (coloured) was the most affected as it raised racial differences. Practically, anchoring racial identity in legislation denied black people political rights, social rights, education opportunities, and entrepreneurial opportunities because most activities were determined by race. Therefore, black people were the most unfortunate because they occupied the lowest level of socio-economic hierarchy in the society.
