Political life changed drastically during the American Revolution. For instance, there were increased participation in governance and politics as well as legal institutionalization of tolerance in religion. Also, the majority of the population wanted colonialist to make government based on natural laws such as freedom and the three branches of the government to check one another.
The article of confederation made the creation of national government that comprises of a congress with the power to declare war, sign treaties, appoint military officers, make alliances, manage relations with India and appoint foreign ambassadors.
