1. Massive growth of agricultural production- Agriculture became a major economic activity and Canadians began to produce surplus which they started exporting to other countries.
2.Exploitation of natural resources-There was discovery of natural resources like coal and natural oil that provided a major source of income to the Canadian government.
3. Industrialization-Industrialization provided a wide demand for raw materials.Minerals were mined to feed the growing demand for industrial production.Pulp and paper expanded rapidly to support the rapid growth in newspapers.Industrialization also provided a source of employment for a greater population.
