FDR's Order 9066 authorized military authorities to exclude which civilians in Feb. 1942?
Executive Order 9066 by Franklin D. Roosevelt authorized military authorities to exclude Japanese Americans in February 1942.
The order, which came immediately after the Pearl Harbor Attack, vaguely prescribed certain areas as military areas leading to the forced removal of resident "enemy aliens" from parts of the West Coast and systematically detaining them in prison camps. The largest number of those interned by far was Americans of Japanese descent.
