Why the ICBMs Changed the Nature of War
Technological revolution especially in the military industry has led to a significance change in the nature of in which wars are conducted due to invention of more advanced weapons, machines and war technology. ICBMs had powerful nuclear weapons that were very dangerous and lethal, and no enemy wished to have a direct confrontation or war engagements with the ICBMs. In the event of nuclear weapons, any direct engagements in a warfare would lead to death, hence the parties had to find a rather safer way of engaging in a warfare aside from the use of nuclear weapons where death and mass destruction was a guarantee. This fear for death and mass destruction by the nuclear weapons posed by the ICBMs lead to a change in the nature of war and parties opted for small scale and traditional warfare where both enemies could avoid direct confrontations.
