describe the significance of war on drugs.
Significance of war on drugs
The war on drugs is a worldwide campaign meant to prevent the manufacturing, distribution, and consumption of drugs. The government has continued to fight the drug dealers, and sometimes they triumph in getting hold of drug lords. Several people are now behind bars for illegal drug use. The government does this to achieve its goal of keeping illegal drugs off of the streets. However, the war on drugs has caused more significant harm than good; it has failed. Instead of striving towards its goal, the fight has promoted corruption, empowered organized crime groups, and made a multibillion-dollar market. For instance, wounded soldiers have been treated with morphine causing extensive morphine addiction among soldiers.
