1. A constitution provides the basis for governance in a country, which is essential to making sure that everyone's interests and needs are addressed. It determines how laws are made, and details the process by which the government rules.

a) Article 3 – Islam

States may create their own laws to govern Muslims in respect of Islamic law and personal and family law matter. States may create Syariah courts to adjudicate over Muslims in respect of State Islamic laws.

b) The Federal Constitution is an astonishingly important document that provides the framework for the relationship between the people and the federation. It creates a boundary between what the federation can and cannot do in respect of its executive and legislative duties.
