Social movements are crucial, organized groups striving to work toward a shared goal especially in an effort for a positive change .In China ,the 1989 pre-democracy social movements led to a lift within the Chinese ruling government's ruling elite with hardliners pressing for escalating repression. On the other hand, in Eastern Europe, the 1989  pro-democracy social movements led to the formation of the revolutionary wave that initiated the end of the communist rule throughout the world including the central and Eastern Europe and beyond.
