Why did Von Schleicher want Franz von Papen as the next Chancellor?
Von Papen sought vengeance on von Schleicher, and he conspired with Hitler to have him overthrown. Hindenburg was already exasperated with von Schleicher, thus when the Germans projected a new regime with Hitler as Chancellor, von Papen as Vice-Chancellor, and an executive cabinet mainly consisted of non-Nazis, he requested von Schleicher to step down.
Paul von Hindenburg was one of the Weimar Nation's influential facets while Schleicher was involved in sharp engagement with Hindenburg and Brüning; his conspiracies backed Brüning's collapse in May 1932 and assisted lead to the nomination of Franz von Papen as head of government in June 1932.
