Octavian pressured Antony to marry his sister because he wanted them to maintain the alliance between him and Mark Antony. He also did it because Cleopatra was against it.

Octavian never trusted Cleopatra and Antony to rule because the two were parading their children to rule in future, hence a threat to Octavian rule of the empire.
