Imperialism is a policy where the government of a nation is increased over foreign countries or even acquiring and holding colonies and territories. When the country would take over a smaller colony for an economic, political, and social reason, they employed imperialism. Because of imperialism, Great Britain became the most powerful nation in the world. The Age of Imperialism widened the gap between the developed nations of Europe and all the underdeveloped regions arose as imperial powers exploited and drained the lands for their own economic and political gain. There are several ways in which we can say that imperialism changed the world. Imperialism and encouraged in helping the African countries poor and chaotic. Imperial powers exploited African countries for their own benefits, and not for the native people. They created economies that centered on helping the Europeans' economies and not African countries. the British taxed their colons and they decided to employ several kinds of taxes for their colonies to help in supporting their activities and they used full power on their colonies imperialism also expanded on religion. Sometimes people were converted to new members of their religion and, thus, their empire changed. Christian missionaries from Europe, for instance, established churches in the conquered region in doing they spread Western cultural values which in turn helped them smoothly rule over the Africans without resistance.
