1. Protecting their Holy Land- from the Saladin perspective, Muslims believed that the Christians meant to interfere with their sacred space, which was not the case with. However, the Muslims were to fight to rescue their holy places.
2. Muslims had a motive that the Christian crusaders would slaughter their own families and the Muslim slaves.
3. Balian as well threatened that the Christians would burn their treasures and wealth.
