Victorianism is a period in the social, political and cultural life of Britain and other English speaking countries during the time of Queen Victoria's reign (1837 – 1901). The victorian period is considered as the time of economic growth and culture development. Queen Victoria had almost no influence on political processes, while Britain was bypassed by the social revolutions of that time, unlike other European countries. The period is characterized by the industrial revolution and the development of capitalism, as well as the moral code of British society, which formed conservative values.
