Joseph Chamberlain was a British businessman, social reformer, radical politician and ardent imperialist who was closely associated with two main alliances in the UK history, the tariff reforms and the imperial unity. He voted for the new tariff scheme that was aimed to draw Britain and its dependencies as a common market. This was basically to protect them form stiff tariffs without and united by preferential tariffs within. this alliance was importance because it would enhance Britain's international security, protect manufactures threatened by new competitions from Germany and United States. Thus, this changed the UK mind towards global conflict.
