The group survives through hunting and gathering using traditional hammocks and hunting tools. Recently, the region has been affected by illegal logging with many of Awá Guajá, being killed. The illegal logging highlights the continuing danger the world biggest rain forest which plays a major role in maintaining world’s climate.
