Factors that affect Nigeria’s Population Growth
The government of Nigeria lacks sustainable facilities to control population such as creating awareness to the grassroots levels about family planning (Nenge, 2018). Some Nigerian’s religious beliefs deter them from family planning, which increases their likelihood of conceiving more and increasing the country’s population. Health also influences Nigeria’s population negatively since the state is prevalent to diseases such as AIDS and malaria that kill many individuals for failure to seek medical attention as desire (Nenge, 2018). Finally, social factors such as early and forced marriages and hope to have many children also influence population growth in Nigeria.
