Temperature changes because heat given off by the Earth warms the air. Basically, temperature becomes colder on top of a mountain opposed to the ground, but in the stratosphere, the air warms with height because more light is absorbed in higher altitudes. Higher, the temperature lowers, because the lack of ozone makes it impossible to warm up the air. Finally, molecular oxygen (O2) increases the temperature again on the height of 90km.
