India occupies strategic positions in south asia. explain the statement with reference to india's neighbours?
India occupies a strategic position in Asia, concerning the territory first, from the seas to Arabia and Africa on the west, second, from the seas to Burma, Malaysia and the Indonesian Archipelago on the east which makes it the country with a long coast line. The Himalayan ranges keep India apart from the rest of Asia due to its geographic location. India borders with a lot of successful and most populated countries, for instance, Bangladesh and Burma on the east, plus, with Pakistan and Afghanistan on the west. On the north, Indian boundary is made up of the Sinkiang province of China, Tibet, Nepal, and Bhutan. Also, the country is divided from Sri Lanka by a narrow channel of sea formed by the Palk Strait and the Gulf of Mannar. Finally, Indian strategic position is successful due to the small distance to oil-rich countries of the Persian Gulf.
