TheEuropeans brought to the New World plenty of diseases. They led to complete extinction of several groups of people and caused suffering to others. Many domestic animals were infected as well. During the first two centuries of contact, Native Americans died from smallpox, measles, bubonic plague and influenza, as they did not have immunoprotection. However, colonists considered diseases to be God’s will.
