Question #221380

Why is Venus's rotation unusual?

Please use a short paragraph (3-5 sentences) to answer it.

Expert's answer

Venus's rotation unusual is because the angle between its axis of rotation and the plane of its orbit is 177°. This looks as if Venus rotates clockwise of we look at it from the North pole of Earth, while all other planets rotate counter-clockwise from this direction of observation. That is why the rotation is unusual.
