First, it is hot outside. It may feel quite dry, but there are forests and ocean air masses that contribute to not very low humidity of air. The criminal level is not low both in rural and city areas, so it is never a bad idea to remain cautious on the streets. There are many animals on the streets compared to European countries. The traffic is dense and may seem extreme to a European traveler.
