Three factors one would have to consider when conceptualizing a map for early grade school children
#1: There is a difference between a map and a plan
#2: The scale of a map is not an easy concept for early grade school children to understand
#3: There is a big difference between a political map (that kids are most likely familiar with) and a physical map (that kids most likely do not know about)
