Think gravity battery.

  1. How much suspended weight and how far down would it need to be lowered in order to produce 100kwh?
  2. How many Kw would it take to lift the weight back up?
  3. What style of motor/generator can do this? It's being used both as the generator and the motor.

A direct drive AC high torque would be good to keep the RPM's and maintenance low. Any experts on motors here?

How and what is Ro in this circuit when it is adjusted for maximum power? and what is its corresponding power?

Theoretically plan experiments to determine the specific gravity of a solid material sample and a liquid sample other than water. Plan the experiments you will carry out, providing a list of other equipment you would theoretically need for the Laboratory Technician. After you have written out a plan the experiments present your expected findings as a laboratory report listing equipment, method, results, calculations and conclusion. Your report should also include an evaluation of the two methods.

Design and implementation of HA, FA, HS, FS both using interactive digital input and SPDT switch.

A point charge 100pC is located at (4, 1,-3) while a line y= 0, Z= 0 carries a charge 2 nC/m and Plane Z=3 carries a charge 5 nC/m2. Analyze the point (0, 0, 0) with point charge -5mC, for following parameters

   (a). Force on the point

(b). E field on the point

   (c) . Voltage on the point with respect to the point at infinity.

A chemical process is controlled by a logic circuit. The circuit uses three sensors A, B and C, which

switch an alarm, Q = 1, when certain conditions are reached.

(i) Construct a schematic diagram and simulate the operation of the logic circuit using standard logic gates.

(ii) Minimise the logic circuit using a Karnaugh Map, and then construct a schematic diagram, and simulate the operation of the minimised logic circuit, using standard logic gates.

(iii) Use De Morgan’s Theorems to convert the minimized circuit to use only NAND gates.

(iv) Build a prototype of your final circuit and verify that it meets the conditions in the truth table, and then compare the results from theory, simulation and measurement.
