For an intrinsic semiconductor

Electron-carrier concentration = hole-carrier concentration

p = n = n_i

 

P = hole-carrier concentration

  n = electron-carrier concentration

  n_i = intrinsic carrier concentration

The fermi level for intrinsic semiconductor is given as,

E_F=(E_c-E_v)/2

Where E_F is the fermi level

              E_C is the conduction band

              E_v is the valence band
