Question #114166
A PV module has an output rating of 32 volts and 300mA. Do the following:
a) Design a PV array consisting of the PV module mentioned above to supply 250V and 2A to an inverter connected to some load.
b) Find the power produced by each PV module and PV array.
c) If each PV cell in the above mentioned module produces a power of 10mW, find the

a) Connect 8 modules in series to obtain 256 volts. It is not too much since exceeds the required value by less than 3%. To obtain a current of 2 A, we can connect seven such series arrangements in parallel, which will give 2.1 A of output current.

b) The power of each module will be

"P_m=I_mV_m=0.3\\cdot32=9.6\\text{ W}."

The power of each of the series chains:

"P_s=8P_m=76.8\\text{ W}."

The power of the array (seven series chains connected in parallel):

"P_a=7P_s=537.6\\text{ W}."

c) The number of cells in one module:

"N=\\frac{P_m}{P_c}=\\frac{9.6}{0.01}=960."
