Yes, there are other method which can be used to test the suitability of non potable water.

Setting time can be used to test the suitability of non potable water. In this test, the initial and nal setting time of using non potable water should not be less than 1 hour or greater than 1.5 hour of using potable water.

Suitability of water can be testied by comparing strength and setting time of the concrete of non potable water to that of potable water.
