Compare and contrast the Ammonoid and Nautiloidshells.
It's pretty much an undisputed fact that nautilus are awesome, and the same goes for their siblings, the extinct ammonites. Both are cephalopods with external, chambered shells, but they fall into different subclasses: Nautiloidea and Ammonoidea.
The main difference between the two is seen in their interior, which are the septa. The nautiloids have simple shaped septa while the ammonites have complex septa. The nautiloids run through the center while the ammonites have their siphuncles running through the edges around their shells.
