Question #296918

1) Is the experimentally determined rate equition depends on the type of reactor used for experiments? (Yes / No)

Expert's answer

1)Type of reactor has no effect on the rate equation. The reactor design has no effect on the activation energy. The reactor design affects the mass transfer and the rate of the reaction. However, the use of catalyst usually reduces the activation energy by the formation of low energy complex.
