Answer to Question #260298 in Chemical Engineering for Leke

Question #260298

A well flowing 40%water(viscosity=0.5cP, and FVF=1) and 60% oil(viscosity=4cP and FVF=1.5 from 30-ft thick reservoir. Core analysis indicate the permeability to be 305md. Estimate the productivity index of this well. Assume relative permeability to 0.25 for oil 0.15 for water.

The productivity index is a measure of the well potential or ability to produce and is a commonly measured well property.

A labor productivity index can be calculated by dividing an index of output by an index of hours worked. When more than one index is included in a calculation, all the indexes must have the same base period.

P.I=100×present productivitybase productivityP.I = 100 × \dfrac{\textsf{present productivity}}{\textsf{base productivity}}

=100×0.15/0.25=60= 100 ×0.15/0.25 = 60
