Question #81695

Discuss the issue of vaccination from the perspective of public goods/externalities.
Why might individuals not consent voluntarily to be vaccinated?

Public goods are those goods which are no excludable and non rivalrious in consumption.
Vaccination is the thing, which still a person can choose not to receive (therefore, it can’t be classified as public good). The right of informed consent applies here.
