Today there are dozens of poverty reduction programs. What can solve the problem of the backwardness of developing countries? Fundamentally - nothing, since the resources of the Earth will not be enough to provide a standard of living everywhere, such as in the West. If we talk about the approach of the standard of living in developing countries to the level of developed countries, then the primary role should be played by a change in the economic policy of developed countries: a decrease in their state subsidies for agricultural production, which today sharply reduces its market value in relation to the cost of products of developing countries, and a decrease customs duties on all imports from the Periphery countries. However, in spite of the fact that the problem of backwardness is hitting the developed countries as well, today no collective measures are being taken on their part.
