(i). In your own words, explain International Relations. (ii) List any (5) characteristics of International Relations.

International relations are a special type of social relations and today are considered as a system of interstate and non-state interactions on a global, regional-scale, or at the level of bilateral relations. The purpose of such interactions and, accordingly, the purpose of international relations is to create favorable conditions for the functioning and development of subjects of interaction (subjects of international relations).

The chosen topic is undoubtedly relevant, since international relations are a mutually beneficial basis for economic, political, cultural, and other relationships between states, and also have a direct impact on the development of these areas.

The reasons for the development of international relations are:

1. Uneven economic development in different countries of the world

2. The difference in human, raw materials, financial resources

3. The nature of political relations

4. Different levels of scientific and technological development

5. Features of geographical location, natural and climatic conditions

International relations - a set of economic, political, ideological, legal, diplomatic, and other ties and relationships between states and systems of states, between the main classes, main social, economic, political forces, organizations, and social movements operating in the world arena, i.e. between peoples in the broadest sense of the word.

International relations are characterized by a number of features that distinguish them from other types of relations in society. These characteristic features include the following:

- The spontaneous nature of the international political process, which is characterized by the presence of many trends and opinions, is due to the presence of many subjects of international relations.

- The growing importance of the subjective factor, which expresses the growing role of prominent political leaders.

- Coverage of all spheres of the life of society and the inclusion of various subjects of politics in them.

- Lack of a single power center and the presence of many equal and sovereign centers of political decision-making.

The main importance for the regulation of international relations is not laws, but agreements and agreements on cooperation.

The subjects of international relations are social communities that, through their practical actions, solve issues that affect the fate of all mankind. The subjects of international relations are:

-national states

-international governmental and non-governmental (non-governmental) organizations;

-transnational corporations;

-religious associations;

-social and political movements.

International relations between their subjects are built on a bilateral or multilateral basis, are global or regional.
