“Brain drain” is a process in which scientists, specialists and skilled workers emigrate from a country or region for economic, less often political, religious or other reasons. The term is defined by Encyclopedia Britannica as “the migration of educated or professional personnel from one country, sector of the economy or region to another, usually to obtain better pay or living conditions”. The expression "brain drain" (Brain Drain) appeared in the early 1950s - in a similar way in the UK described the process of a massive move of British scientists to the United States.

The economic situation in the country is such that young specialists who come out with fresh diplomas are often left behind. At the moment, being in demand in many countries in the specialty received at the university is the lot of a few students. The labor market does not have a clear regulation, therefore, the "brain drain" is very dangerous for the economic development of the country and has recently occupied one of the main places in economic theory. In various economic literature, articles about the "brain drain" and interviews with workers and scientists of various specialties, managers and directors of organizations appear quite often.

In theory, a brain drain does not pose a particular danger when people who have gained experience abroad return to their homeland and continue to work, but, as practice shows, a large-scale brain drain causes significant economic, intellectual and moral damage.
