A class of students played computer game which tested how quickly they reached to a visual instruction to press a particular key. The computer measured their reaction times in tenths of a second and stored a record of the sex and reaction times of each student. Finally it displayed the following summary statistics for the whole class.
Median Lower Quartile Upper Quartile Min. Max.
Girl 10 8 15 6 19
Boy 10 7 13 4 16
Write a brief comparison of the performance of boys and girls in the game.
The median value is the same for both girls and boys. But if we consider the lower and upper quartiles, minimal and maximal values, then the girls have higher measures. So, we can conclude, that the girls have better reaction time than boys.
