Supermarket checkout lines all tend to be roughly the same length. Why is that? Explain your answer using one or more concepts related to perfect competition and/or monopoly. (Note that this question is about the checkout lines within a particular store – the question is not about the number of supermarkets or grocery stores.)
Three-quarters of shoppers do not exclusively shop at any single grocery store, indicating that shoppers will not hesitate to bring their business to a perfect competitor for a better checkout experience hence having an orderly way for checkout lines which tend to be roughly the same length rendering this particular store within the supermarket premise a monoply.
