Omicron/covid-19 has had profound effect across all sectors in the society and which may take long before they’re back on their feet or never get back.

Dramatic loss of human life; we’ve lost a lot of lives during the covid-19 period; families have lost their loved ones across the globe. The health facilities couldn’t cope with the surge in capacities of the patients as the ventilators and all the required facilitated where overwhelmed.

Economic and social disruptions; many of those who were breadwinners in their families lost their jobs due to the pandemic. As many institutions came to a halt. Companies were making losses as borders were closed so as to avoid the spread of the disease from one county to another. Social disruptions were also witnessed as people were not allowed to gather in churches, parties; restaurants were also closed as the covid-19 social distance was strictly followed across the globe.

Food system was affected; as people were not allowed to go to their various markets across the globe, it was difficult for one to deliver food to various locations. Borders were also closed from one country to another. This really made it difficult for one to transport food from one region to another. This really made us to understand that no country is really sustainable without needing the other.

School faced closures; more than ninety percent of schools in the globe closed for more than one year. They did this to allow them to improvise a better way to handle the virus amongst the learners as it was a novel virus; few knew how to handle the situation. This really affected learners across the globe. Many ended up losing a whole calendar year. It also affected schools economical as they had to also build more classrooms and more facilities to handle the virus.

Increased cases of mental health; there were increased across the aged and the young. Factors for the cases were varying from loss of jobs, drop from school, engaging in drugs due to available free time to fear of losing lives in the pandemic. This led to witness of surge of cases on mental facilities.

Drop in tourism industry; many in the hospitality industries lost their jobs .As borders were closed many witnessed a sharp decline in the tourism industry. Hotels were closed, coastal beaches were empty, and airlines packed their planes. Each and every player in the hospitality sector was affected and this was extended to music and entertainment industry at large.

Social stigma; this was the main challenge on those who knew their status. They feared how others would perceive them when they heard of their status. This affected many even those on the business sector as even customers avoided their premises for fear of being affected.

The school of thought relevant to this case of covid -19 is the social theory. How the society change and develop about power and social structure, modernity and civilization. In this case we had several changes in societies from the way people greet, how they hold the social gatherings, how they do their work. Like during the covid-19 period many had to work from home. Politically even the world economic summit, most of the meetings were held through virtual conference online.
