Answer to Question #177880 in Macroeconomics for Rohit Sharma

Question #177880

. If you are a business in Ontario, it is possible to get a grant of up to $30,000 or 50% of costs related to growing your export market. For example, attending international trade shows, or creating a marketing plan for a new market. This funding comes from an annually reviewed and funded program to support exporters. Do you think this is a fair or an unfair trading practice? Explain.

Yes , this is a fair practice. Since the grant to the exporter will be given from a program which is openly funded , and any type of loans or benefit is not being taken from other country which can be said to be in restraint of trade or will later harm the domestic nation , this is a fair practice and not against the fair trade practice. Hence such grant for expanding the export business in Ontario through the grant from government can be accepted.
