Cars burn fossil fuels and release carbon monoxide into the atmosphere. The buildup of this gas traps heat in the earth’s atmosphere to warm, hence leading to global warming. This in turn causes severe weather patterns that include heavy floods and drought. In addition, carbon monoxide emitted from the vehicle is poisonous to the human body which when inhaled displaces oxygen from hemoglobin in the bloodstream. This causes headaches, dizziness, vomiting, or even death on exposure to high levels. Prolonged exposure to high levels of carbon monoxide can cause heart disease and long-term health problems. Steps are being taken to reduce carbon emissions that use clean vehicle and fuel technologies. This includes the use of electric cars and trucks such as Tesla cars that entirely use batteries to power them. In addition, vehicle owners should efficiently to reduce the emission of carbon into the air.
