Solution:

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is a financial aid scheme that issues higher education funding to needy South African students who would like to study at TVET Colleges or public universities. For you to qualify under NSFAS funding, your combined household income should be under R350,000 per year or a SASSA grant recipient.

The NSFAS covers the following expenses when you are attending a university or a TVET College, or for students with a disability:

·        Student accommodation.

·        Transport within 40km of the university.

·        All meals will be covered if living on student residence.

·        Incidental or personal care allowance.

·        Book allowances.

·        Assistive devices such as hearing aids, wheelchairs, and support aids for students with disabilities.

The cut-off dates for application for NSFAS funding in 2021 for the year 2022 are between 1st September 2021 and 30th November 2021.

The NSFAS application for 2022 will be opening on 1st September 2021 and close on 30th November 2021.
