An NMR spectrum is a plot of the radio frequency applied against absorption. It is based on the principle that nuclei of atoms have magnetic properties whicht can be utilized to yield chemical information. It is obtained by using NMR spectrometer consisting of spinning sample-holder inside a strong magnet, a radio-frequency emitter and a receiver with a probe. The latter one goes inside the magnet to surround the sample. The sample is exited with radio frequency pulse and nuclear magnetic resonance response is obtained.
