On what basis can mixtures be classified as solutions, suspensions, or colloids?
Mixtures can be classified as solutions, suspensions, or colloids based on the size of particles. Solution is a homogenous mixture and particles are too small that they cannot be filtered out of the mixture. Suspension is a mixture with large particles which we can see and which can be filtered out of the mixture. Colloid is a mixture with middle-sized particles which we can see but which cannot be filtered out of the mixture.
