Why flourine is more non-metallic than chlorine?
Metallic character of the element is its possibility to lose electrons and to form cations. According to the periodic table, Fluorine is placed above the Chlorine. This means that Fluorine has a smaller atomic radius and its electrons are closer to the core. So the electrons attraction forces are greater and there is a lower possibility of their loss.
