Inorganic compounds have an affinity to inorganic ones. At the same time, organic compounds have an affinity to organic ones. So, for example, in the presence of both organicand inorganic solvents, inorganic matter tends to be solved in an inorganic solvent, and organic matter – in organic solvent. This effect is usually called “like dissolves like”.
Dry cleaning is a process of the clothes cleaning by the solvent, which is different from water. This process is widely used at chemical cleaning, where as a solvent is used gas tetrachloroethylene.
